Salt Lake City's big 2026 Christmas markets are Christkindlmarkt at This Is The Place, December 2 to 5, and Gardner Village in West Jordan, November 21 to December 31. Every date below comes from the organizer's own page, checked October 25, 2026. A market that has not posted its 2026 dates says so and shows no date.
This Is The Place Heritage Park holds its German-style Christmas market December 2 to 5, 2026. There are vendor booths, traditional food, German music and dancing, a lantern parade and a live Nativity. Entry is free and you do not need a ticket.
Christmas in the Village runs November 21 through December 31, 2026, with lights along the brick paths, elf displays and an elf scavenger hunt. Because it runs all season, it is the easiest market to fit around a busy December. Walking the village is free, and Breakfast with Santa needs a reservation.
Decorated trees, handmade wreaths and gingerbread houses fill the Mountain America Expo Center December 2 to 5, 2026, and the money raised goes to Primary Children's Hospital. School choirs and dance troupes perform on stage.
The Utah Museum of Fine Arts holds its Holiday Market December 5 and 6, 2026, in the Marcia and John Price Museum Building on the University of Utah campus. Last year local makers sold jewelry, ceramics, prints, candles and handbound books. Pair it with a walk through the museum's galleries.
Red Butte Garden has two holiday sales. Glass in the Garden, a glass art show, runs November 6 to December 20, 2026, and the Holiday Open House and Art Fair brings in artists selling gifts on December 5 and 6, 2026.
Utah's Own, the state agriculture department's local-products program, runs these shops with Millcreek City in the Public Market on the first floor of Millcreek City Hall. The shelves hold food and goods made by Utah businesses. 2026 dates not announced yet.
Wasatch Community Gardens brings more than 30 small local businesses to its campus at 629 E 800 S on December 5, 2026. The market is outdoors with hot drinks and string lights, and the vendors lean toward food, gardening and goods made from local materials.
Empowered Community Markets fills the Daybreak Community Center at 4544 W Harvest Moon Dr with more than 80 vendors on December 11 and 12, 2026. It is indoors, so a cold night does not matter, and it saves southwest valley families the drive downtown.
Marketplace Events fills the Mountain America Expo Center with vendors selling holiday decor, clothes, toys and treats November 12 to 14, 2026. There is also a Santa's Village, carolers and dancers on the Holly Jolly Stage, and an Artists in Action area where you watch gifts being made.
The markets split into two kinds. The big ones, Christkindlmarkt at This Is The Place Heritage Park, Christmas in the Village at Gardner Village in West Jordan and the Salt Lake Family Christmas Gift Show at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, run for several days or the whole season and have food, music and things for kids. The smaller ones, like the UMFA Holiday Market, the Red Butte Garden art fair and the Love Local Winter Market at Wasatch Community Gardens, run for a day or a weekend, and they are where you buy straight from local artists and makers.
If you want a full family outing, pick a big one and go on a weeknight. If you are buying gifts from Utah makers, keep the first weekend of December open: the UMFA market and the Red Butte art fair run December 5 and 6, 2026, and the Love Local market is December 5. South valley families can skip the drive downtown and go to the Daybreak Winter Market on December 11 and 12.
