Utah World Fashion Week puts Friday's runway in the Mid-Valley lobby
Friday's fashion show surrounds the runway with the Mid-Valley lobby. Saturday's finale moves into Studio 5400. Both shows run about 105 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission, and the dress code is casual elegant with no jeans or shorts. Your same-day ArtTix ticket also works as UTA fare.

Monte in South Salt Lake wins Utah's first Michelin star
Michelin released its first Southwest guide Wednesday night, and Monte at Beehive Distilling earned one star. It is the first Utah restaurant to receive a Michelin star.
Three I-215 ramps reopen Friday, then California Avenue closes Monday
UDOT says three northbound I-215 ramps at I-80 reopen Friday, including the westbound airport route. A different bridge job closes the northbound I-215 exit to California Avenue at 4 a.m. Monday for about 35 days.

KRCL Day in the Park has local music, art vendors, food, and children's activities at the International Peace Gardens. Flamingo opens at noon, and Daniel Young & the Rambling Roses close the stage at 4 p.m.

A shuttle links two brewery festivals in Midvale and Sandy
The Utah Beer Hop runs one Wild West stop at 2 Row Brewing and another at WolfDog Brewing, with guest breweries, live music, and a shuttle moving between the two taprooms for the whole event.

RSL's Leagues Cup run ended Tuesday with a 3-0 quarterfinal loss to Club LeΓ³n in Commerce City. The club returns to the same stadium Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. MLS match against Colorado.
Salt Lake Bees
Salt Lake's last final before a 6 p.m. Thursday research cutoff was a 16-1 win at Tacoma. The Bees had an 8:05 p.m. Thursday game after that cutoff, followed by another 8:05 p.m. game Friday.

Michelin gave this Chinatown noodle shop a Bib Gourmand for good food at a moderate price. The current menu has more than twenty beef noodle combinations, plus pork, lamb, fish, tofu, and cold noodles.
Our take
Start with the $13.98 numbing spicy beef noodle if you want the bowl the restaurant is known for. The menu also lets you choose hand-pulled or hand-shaved noodles.β οΈ Heads up: The numbing spicy broth has real Sichuan pepper heat. The braised or tomato beef bowls are the easier first order if you do not want that burn.

Friday is the last Doodle Bugs day at the Gale Museum
South Jordan's free history museum is running its Doodle Bugs craft through Friday. The activity uses construction paper, googly eyes, a pipe cleaner, glue, and scissors to build a colorful caterpillar.

This works for a short indoor stop with younger children. The museum also has hands-on exhibits, play areas, and recreations of historic buildings.β οΈ Heads up: Parents or guardians must stay with children, and food and drinks stay in the lobby or outdoor picnic area.

Six local arts groups combine Edgar Allan Poe, contemporary dance, classical piano, and comedy Saturday at 7 p.m. The 60-minute world premiere is $15 general admission and $10 for students.

Laziz says its 912 S Jefferson Street restaurant will close after the landlord declined to renew the lease. A farewell party is planned for Sunday, Aug. 30.
Skyline High opens while the last construction work continues
Granite School District received a temporary occupancy certificate for the rebuilt Skyline High on Aug. 21. Students have attended classes in the new building since Aug. 12 while crews finish the auditorium and exterior work.
Salt Lake City school buses start ZΕ«m passes with a four-week grace period
The Salt Lake City School District is mailing new ZΕ«m bus cards near the end of August. For the first four weeks, drivers will record use but will not leave a student at the stop because a pass is missing or does not work.
