SEO Packages in Salt Lake City: What Local Agencies Charge

Most Salt Lake City SEO agencies make you book a call before they name a price. A few put their packages on their websites. This guide lays out those published prices side by side, says what each tier includes, and shows what you give up at the cheap end.

Quick answer

Salt Lake County agencies that publish their SEO prices charge about $850 to $1,500 a month for a local package built around your Google Business Profile and the map results, and $2,250 to $5,000 a month once regular articles and link building are added. Work aimed at national keywords runs $5,000 to $10,000 a month at Garit Boothe Digital in South Jordan. The packages under $600 a month that we found sell bulk links, which Google's spam policies forbid.

  • Sites by Sara, Salt Lake City: $850, $1,500 and $2,250 a month
  • RedSEO, Salt Lake City: $1,500 local package, $2,500 and $3,500 retainers
  • Garit Boothe Digital, South Jordan: $1,000 to $10,000 a month in three tiers
  • In an Ahrefs survey of 439 SEO providers, 68.8% charged $2,000 a month or less

Published SEO package prices in Salt Lake County

We read the pricing pages of Salt Lake County SEO firms on October 28, 2026, and kept only the ones that list dollar figures. Many well-known shops, including several on our list of SEO companies in Salt Lake City, quote only after a call, so they are not in this table. Plenty of pages that rank for "Salt Lake City SEO" belong to firms in Idaho, Ohio or overseas with a Salt Lake landing page; we left those out too.

What each price range buys

$850 to $1,500 a month is a local package. The work centers on your Google Business Profile, the box with your hours, photos and reviews that shows up when someone in Murray searches "electrician near me." At this price you get profile updates, citations (your name, address and phone number listed the same way on directories like Yelp and Apple Maps), a handful of backlinks, and a monthly ranking report on 12 to 25 search terms. Sites by Sara's $1,500 Standard plan adds three content pieces a month and technical fixes to your site. Garit Boothe Digital's Local Business tier adds four 500-word articles and four local backlinks a month, with a price that moves inside its $1,000 to $2,500 range depending on how hard your keywords are.

$2,250 to $5,000 a month pays for steady writing and link building. Sites by Sara's Growth plan doubles the keywords to 50 and the content to six pieces a month. Garit Boothe's Small Company tier buys six 1,000-word articles a month and is pitched at local businesses with hard keywords, such as a personal injury firm or a Sandy dentist competing with every other dentist in the south valley. RedSEO's retainers at $2,500 and $3,500 are sold in credits; the page does not say what a credit buys, so ask for that in writing.

$5,000 to $10,000 a month is for national keywords or a business with many locations. Garit Boothe's Company tier is built for that: longer articles written by someone who knows your field, plus premium backlinks. A plumber who only works in Salt Lake County rarely needs this tier.

Local SEO or full SEO: which one a Salt Lake business needs

If your customers come to you or you drive to them, and they live within 20 minutes of your shop, a local package is usually enough. A landscaper in South Jordan needs to show up in the map results when someone in Daybreak searches for yard cleanup. That depends on the Google Business Profile, reviews and citations far more than on blog posts.

Full SEO makes sense when the search terms are crowded or when you sell beyond the valley: an online store shipping from a West Valley City warehouse, a software company downtown, or a law firm that wants clients from Ogden to Provo. Those sites need new pages and links every month, which is what the $2,500 and up tiers pay for.

One-time fees: audits, setup and your Google Business Profile

Monthly retainers are not the only charge. Sites by Sara lists a $950 Google Business Profile setup that includes video verification and the first month of work, a $750 cleanup for an existing profile, and a $1,750 SEO audit that comes with up to 10 priority fixes. Setting up Google Search Console costs $150 on the same page, and a bundle of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Search Console is $400.

Garit Boothe Digital prices one-off jobs, such as an audit, a penalty recovery or keyword research, at $500 to $5,000 depending on scope. RedSEO sells pieces separately: links from $114 each, content at $150 a piece, and local citations from $210.

A Google Business Profile itself is free. If you can fill in your categories, hours and photos yourself, you can skip a setup fee and spend the money on the monthly work instead.

What a $65 SEO package actually is

The cheapest Salt Lake prices we found are on a site that lists a downtown Salt Lake address and does not name its owner. Its Essentials plan is $65 a month and its Custom plan is $575. The page spells out what you get: guest posts, Web 2.0 links, and between 1,500 and 20,000 "amplification links" a month, depending on the tier.

Google's spam policies list "buying or selling links for ranking purposes" and "using automated programs or services to create links to your site" as link spam. Nobody builds 20,000 links a month by hand for $575. If a package is priced by the number of links and the links come by the thousand, read Google's policy before you pay for it.

Some inexpensive offers are fine. A freelancer who fixes your Google Business Profile and cleans up your citations for a few hundred dollars can do real good. For any package, ask what a person will do on your site and your profile each month.

Contracts, notice periods and setup fees

RedSEO runs month to month and asks for 30 days' notice to cancel. The low-priced link seller says it has no contract and no setup fee. Sites by Sara and Garit Boothe Digital do not post contract terms on their pricing pages, so ask before you sign.

Ask three things about any contract: how long the minimum term is, who owns the articles and links if you leave, and whether you keep admin access to your Google Business Profile, Google Analytics and Search Console. You should own all three accounts. An agency can be added as a manager and removed later.

How SEO prices in Salt Lake compare with the rest of the country

Ahrefs, which sells SEO software, surveyed 439 SEO providers. The most common monthly retainer was $501 to $1,000, chosen by 20.4% of them, and 68.8% charged $2,000 a month or less. The most common hourly rate was $75 to $100.

The Salt Lake County agencies that publish prices sit at or a little above that range. A local package here starts at $850 to $1,500. The jump to $2,500 and up comes when you add writing and link building every month.

How to compare two SEO quotes

Put the two proposals side by side and write down, for each, the number of articles a month, the number of links a month and where they come from, the number of keywords tracked, and whether the Google Business Profile is part of the work. A $1,500 quote with four articles and profile work is a different product from a $1,500 quote with neither.

Google's own guide to hiring an SEO suggests asking to see examples of past work, whether the firm follows Google Search Essentials, what results it expects and by when, how it measures them, and what experience it has in your industry and your city. Google also says "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google." If a rep promises first place, Google's advice is to find someone else.

Ask for the monthly report a current client gets, with the name blacked out. If it shows rankings and nothing about calls, form fills or booked jobs, ask how they will tie the work to sales.

What to spend first if your budget is tight

Under $1,000 a month, put the money into your Google Business Profile, reviews and citations before you pay for blog posts. If you can do the profile work yourself, a one-time audit with priority fixes may be a better buy than a monthly plan.
